Okay, not all spam will suck the life out of your computer. Sometimes it’s just annoying email that simple does not interest you. While filtering junk email can happen at the server level where you never have to worry about it, there are several things you can do to reduce the amount of spam in your mailbox.
- Unsubscribe from unwanted mailing lists. We subscribe to a lot of e-newsletters and announcements. But after awhile, we may not need or want these. And sometimes companies send us invitations we unwittingly subscribe to, only to figure out that company wants to sell us something without building a relationship first. But going through you emails periodically and unsubscribing from these, you can reduce the amount of emails cluttering your inbox.
- Create rules to filter out specific tags. Tags help you organize your mail and prioritize it for work. With tags you can filter junk email and focus on the important messages critical to your business success.
- Blacklisting of specific accounts or domains. If you have tried multiple times to unsubscribe to email lists that you don’t find valuable anymore, and if the organization continues to send you emails, use your email client’s blacklist to block specific accounts or domains.
Although this is an effective way to filter junk email on your machine, counting on your employees to follow suite might be like herding cats. When you filter junk email on the server level, you don’t have to worry about those unwanted emails. We help you set up specific blacklists that block those annoying emails you don’t care about.
